Application & Instructions

Instructions

Two important initial points:
1) Letters of inquiry and prescreening are unnecessary. This application is the appropriate first step in submitting a grant request.
2) The foundation's administrative staff is happy to help with technical questions about the application process but is unable to provide guidance on the fit of the grantee or the structure of the request.

The Wismer Foundation's online grant application form has been divided into three sections: Organization Information; Contact Information; and Proposal Information. The application also asks for the organization budget, the project budget (if applicable) and a copy of the IRS Determination Letter. The form allows you to save your work so you can return to it at a later date. You will receive an email from "Foundation Services" [info @fsllc.net] which will contain a link to your account and an estimate on when you might hear back.

If you previously started or submitted an application, you can access the account you created by clicking here.

If you encounter problems and/or have additional questions, please visit the FAQ's page here.

If, after repeated attempts, you cannot overcome problems accessing the online application form, you may send an email to Foundation Services with the alternate form found here.

Important Uploading Considerations
• PDF format is preferred. Most Microsoft Office documents are also acceptable. Either way, make sure your documents are well-formatted and look how you want us to see them! Print preview is your friend! [Please see our short Budget Prep Guide if you would like additional tips.]

• Some formats are incompatible. Extensions that our system cannot import include “-.pages“, “-.pub” and “-.sheet”, among others. Please convert these to PDF format before uploading.

Key restrictions: do NOT upload PDFs that have JavaScript or macros (e.g. auto-printing, preview, etc.)! Also, do NOT upload oversized documents [Letter size (8.5” x 11”) works best; treat legal size as the maximum]. These issues will create problems with the processing of your application and may cause it to be rejected outright.

Helpful Tips
• Whenever possible, grant requests should be made using the Grant Application Form. If you are repeatedly unable to access the application, you may use the alternate application listed above.

• Prior to proceeding to the online application, please make sure you have reviewed the foundation's Guidelines and FAQs to ensure your application receives the consideration that it deserves.

• Applicants should be as concise as possible when responding to all grant application questions.

• The site allows you to "Save" your application prior to completion. Just log into your account and you can continue working on the form.

• Any budgets you will be uploading with your application should be previewed beforehand. If you would like tips on formatting those budgets, see our short Budget Prep Guide.
